About Us
The United Parish
of Celebration is located in Disney's Town of Celebration, Florida just
a short distance from Walt Disney World. The church gathers for worship
each Sunday at 10:30 a.m. in the Cafeteria of the Celebration K-8 School.
The first service was held on August 11, 2002.
Our Name
“United”
indicates the interdenominational nature of our congregation. We were
members of several denominations who united to form a church in Celebration:
American Baptist, Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, Christian Church (Disciples
of Christ), Lutheran Church, Methodist Church, and The United Church
of Christ (Congregational Church). Other denominations are welcome to
join us.
We

Our
Mission
Drawing
on our diverse religious backgrounds, we balance traditional worship
with progressive theology and through our unity serve God always.
Our Church Covenant
We
will walk together in Christian love; strive for the welfare of the
church; attend its services of worship; contribute to the expense of
the church for the relief of the needy and for the spread of the Gospel.
We will advance the religious education of our children and our own
enlightenment; walk uprightly; be just in our dealings and faithful
in our engagements.
We will cultivate courtesy and Christian sympathy, be slow to take offense
and eager for reconciliation, remember each other in prayer, comfort
and aid one another in sickness and distress.
We will, when we move from this place, as soon as possible, unite with
a church in our new community.
Our
Doctrine
United
Parish of Celebration recognizes the Bible as the guiding rule of our
faith and practice and Jesus Christ as God incarnate, our Savior and
our Lord. Relying on the guidance of the Holy Spirit, each member has
the personal right and responsibility to read and interpret the scriptures
in the light given unto him or her. Therefore, the church’s statement
of faith is not a test, but an expression of our commitment nurtured
by the scriptures.
Our
Statement of Faith
We
are not alone, we live in God’s world.
We believe in God:
who has created and is creating,
who has come in Jesus, the Word made flesh, to reconcile and make new,
who works in us and others by the Spirit.
We trust in God.
We are called to be the church:
to celebrate God’s presence,
to love and serve others,
to seek justice and resist evil,
to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen, our judge and our hope.
In life, in death, in life beyond death,
God is with us.
We are not alone.
Thanks be to God. Amen
